No rip and replace for Domino - IBM have committed to Domino 8. For those who were worried that "IBM Workplace" would be the replacement for Domino, IBM have reinforced that Domino is here to stay. In the coming years "Domino" and "Workplace" will become more tightly knitted, however IBM is not going to walk away from the Domino case base which has millions of Notes applications.

Notes 7 to have the last dedicated client - By release 8 of Domino they will be only one client, the "rich client". There is a preview of the rich client in our photo galley. The rich client will incorporate all Notes and Workplace functions in the one client. For the end user they wont know if there are accessing a Domino server or a Workplace server. For example in the rich client users may be getting they mail and calendar from Workplace and there applications form Domino.
